Happy Fourth of July! (Nail Art Tips and Tricks.)

In honor of our country's day of independence, we bring you festive nails! Here are our results!

1. Choose your main color and paint on selected nails. 

2. Paint blue on your accent nails.

For light, streaky polishes use this technique:

3. Paint a thin coat of your light color and make sure it is completely dry before moving onto the next step.

4. Then, paint a thin coat of a matte topcoat. Let dry. We used Revlon's matte topcoat.

5. Paint a final coat of your light color and, tada! No streaks! 

For our nail designs we used:

-A white striper for stripes, chevrons, and stars. We used Stripe Rite from Sally's Beauty Supply.

-The stars were done by drawing the typical five line star with the white striper. Let me know if you guys want a tutorial on this!

-For the polka dots, use a bobby pin, pour the desired spot color onto a paper plate and dip the end of the bobby pin. Make sure to pat off the excess before dotting on your nail. You could also use nail dotting tools which you can find here.
